Fu Bingchang (1895-1965), was born in Guangdong,a famous photographer in the Republic of China. Since his childhood he was encouraged to artistic creation for his mother were a known local painter. Oncegrown up, he went to Hong Kong in order to study engineering and ultimatelybecame an important diplomat later in his career with the introduction ofRepublic politician Mr. Tingfang Wu. Mr. Fu was once the last ambassadorto  Russia and participated the importantdiplomatic meeting in Paris in 1946 and later became the minister of diplomacy.

After graduation, his interest turned to photography and he founded withfriends the short-lived Jinshi society specialized in scenic photography. Interestingly Fu used his peculiar talent to capture landscapes inorder to create a large body of portraits notably depicting beautiful women often situated in sceneries, who amaze us by their beauty, the tenderness of their gaze, the delicacy of their pose.

- L- E% {7 y/ c4 [3 i# PThese young and beautiful women bring to mind Chen Jiagang’s beautiful ladies wearing also qipao (Chinese term meaning the long dress very popular in the 1930s) and standing in either natural or industrial sceneries. But while Chen implies melancholy and anxiety facing the contemporary world, Fu seems to convey the pureness as well as the essence of the modern women of the new China at that time. It should be noted that Fu’s photographs represent one of the rare preserved images of Chinese females of that age taken by a Chinese in the 1930-40s. Particularly for today's Chinese living in Mainland China, those pictures are part of people at the time, and mostly the history of Republic China from a different angle.

3 n' v( _# y0 x. t+ T  B; A" @傅秉常 (1895-1965) 生于广东，民国时期著名的摄影师，自幼在艺术才能上即表现出很高的天赋特比是因为他母亲也是当地的相当著名的画家，她不断地鼓励傅继续画下去。成大以后，傅去香港学习工程学, 随伍廷芳步入政坛，曾担任国民政府最后一任驻苏联大使，参加过1946年的巴黎和会，后被任命为外交部副部长，部长（未到职）等职，成为民国前期著名的外交官员之一。

毕业以后，傅先生慢慢地对摄影艺术感兴趣，因此他跟一些朋友创立“景社”，他们专门创造风光摄影。有意思的是因为傅善于拍摄风光摄影，所以用他精湛的艺术才华以便拍摄美女的肖像，她们常常站在壮美风光，非常漂亮，目不转睛地看着我们，给我们留下的记忆大约是温婉动人。

1 P, r9 z1 d/ \5 l; ]6 Y这些美女让我们想到陈家刚的作品，在他的自然或者工厂风光照片里也有穿着旗袍的女人。不过陈家刚的照片反映当代忧患意识和怀旧感这些感觉，相反的傅大师似乎反映那个时代女性的象征。这种出自中国摄影师的照片很少见，它们在民国年代之回忆中给后人留下了美丽的瞬间，特别对今天生活在中国大陆的中国人，不但反映了当时的人物，特别重要的是从不同的角度反映了那一段民国历史。
