少年强则国强----梁启超故居北沟沿23号行摄

迤西。胡同自北向南沟通大菊胡同和东四十四条，长300多米。明代，称“学房胡同”；清乾隆时称“官学胡同”，宣统时称“北沟沿”，因胡同临近水沟而得
与新太仓二巷相通，东侧有两条支巷通往小菊胡同。
北沟沿胡同23号，旧时的门牌是北沟沿13号，在胡同南段西侧，占地面积3752平方米，街门
朝东。街门是被称作“西洋门”①的屋宇式街门，街门内外各有一座“一字影壁”，显示出主人非同一般的身份。虽然从建筑学角度讲，大门外对面的“影壁”，亦
称“照壁”，既有遮挡大门对面零乱的墙面檐口的作用，也有作为宅门对景的作用。但是，在胡同的另一侧建影壁，或是依托别人的宅基，或是占用胡同的公共用

中”便是“衙”。既然，门外的影壁是宅门的对景；那么，门前的这段道路自然与宅院产生了领属关系。门外的影壁分明地在警示行人:在此门前不许停留，更不许
喧哗。梁启超任过北洋政府的司法总长和财政总长，其政府大员的身份与这座宅院的规格是相称的。 <br/><br/>北沟沿胡同23号现在是单位宿舍，当年院
内的主要建筑尚存，只是残破不堪而已；由于为解决职工
住房而进行的改、扩建工程和住户见缝插针的自建房屋，致使该院已难寻昔日风采。
1986年1月21日，东城区人民政府将北沟沿胡同23号作为“梁启超故居”，公布为“东城区
文物保护单位”。
